Ahh skincare, one of my favorite products to blow my money on and happily so. Skincare is one of my favorite gifts to give and receive, as I believe they not only make practical gifts but exciting ones as well. And seriously who doesn’t love skincare?
Great skin is a combination of what you put in your body, your genes, and the products you apply on your skin. It is so important that you identify what your skin type is and research what types of products is best suited for you. My skin type is oily, with large pores, and blackhead prone, with minor acne scarring. So, typically I search for products that not only deal with pigmentation but with clarifying properties.
Throughout the years, I have experimented with an array of skincare products from high-end to middle-end and in recent years have been able to define what truly works for me. So if you’re like me and is prone to blackheads, oily skin, and large pores, then you will benefit greatly from the products I am about to share. On my blog today, I have rounded up a list of skincare products that are not only my favorites of 2016 but I believe would make excellent holiday gifts.
The Dr. Dennis Gross Skincare Alpha Beta Peel-Extra Strength Daily Peel is something you will always find in my skincare stash. Why? Because they are effective! They clear up the skin and make it look its best shape. For me, I notice more even tone on my skin and tighter pores. I don’t follow the recommended daily use however and limit the usages to only twice a week. If I have an event coming up, I increase the usages. If your skin is more on the sensitive side, I recommend trying the original version first.
I have been using the Ole Henriksen's Three Little Wonders kit for years! While I can’t say this set is the one stop shop for complete skin clarity, I can say that I’ve seen a tremendous improvement.
Truth Serum- This serum is amazing! It makes my skin plump, radiant, and overall more even toned. I noticed a decrease in acne scars (doesn’t rid of acne scars completely). The texture is liquidity, lightweight and absorbs quickly into the skin.
Invigorating Night Gel- Far more thick in texture than the Truth Serum but it isn’t gross. It may sting your skin slightly if you’re a first time user. I’d recommend waiting 2 minutes (or letting the product dry) before applying the 3rd step (moisturizer): Sheer Transformation. I noticed fewer breakouts with this product.
Sheer Transformation- This lightweight moisturizer does the job for me and hydrates my oily skin perfectly. However, I have heard from people with a drier skin type that it’s not hydrating enough for their winter skin.
The Clarisonic has changed my skin’s life. It’s a great device for light exfoliation or removing makeup. I wear makeup on the daily, and the Clarisonic gives me confidence that I am going to sleep with zero traces of makeup. My skin has become softer, more even toned, and I’ve experienced fewer breakouts. The Clarisonic also preps your skin to absorb your skincare into a deeper layer of your skin. I've probably had mines for over five years. The device still works great. However, I may need to replace my charger soon.
This mask is an amazing skin pick me up. Whenever I use the product my skin instantly looks 3x better, I notice softer and brighter complexion. This stuff almost works amazing for pore reduction, oil control, and riding blackheads. It is a bit on the drying side, so moisturize!
I use this creamy mask at least two times a week; it’s one of the best sulfur masks for oily, troubled skin. And it is relatively inexpensive. I wear makeup on a daily basis and is prone to blackheads so therefore I need a good purifying mask to keep my impurities at bay. It is not overly drying for my oily skin. Your skin will feel clean, refreshed, and helps refine the texture of your skin.
