With Christmas just down the corner and New Years around the block, what better way to express total excitement than to curate an entire series of all things festive. Announcing: The S1 Holiday Series! I know, I know, I’ve gotten quite creative with my blog post titles. But at least it’s as obvious as it sounds. First up, my first ever holiday guide! Check it out here.
This holiday season, I had the pleasure of partnering up with H&M to create this festive attire. Dressing festive is all about evoking the feeling of glamour, a little sparkle, pops of vibrant colors, and extravagant textures. I think I just described a peacock, but that is not what I mean. I’m strictly talking fabrics- intricate floral embroidery, metallic shimmers, sparkly sequins, and velvety reds for your next seasonal soiree. With that mental mood board in mind and a vanilla soy latte in hand, I set out to my nearest H&M in determined pursuit to find the perfect holiday dress.
My pursuit ended with the purchase of a gorgeous but somewhat itchy (won’t lie but you get used to it, haha) embroidered floral mesh dress. The moment I laid eyes on it, I knew I had to incorporate it into my holiday lookbook. In fact, I had to drive to two different H&M locations to hunt down this dress in my size. Whew, thank god the H&M at the Americana came through.
While this embroidered floral mesh dress is the very definition of glamour, I wanted to up the festive factor with pops of red and metallic fishnet stockings. One can’t help but notice the rise in reds and metallics trending across social media. Though not a huge fan of metallics myself, I still wanted to play around with the fabric without fully committing. So my solution was to sneak in bits of metallic, in the form of fishnet stockings. As a layering lover, I’m seeking every opportunity to add a little something extra before California adds the sunny back to its name. So enter the fluffiest red scarf for the finishing touch. And voila, I'm ready for my next holiday soiree.
