#S1HolidaySeries: Muted Metallics

Merry almost Christmas and Happy holidays everyone! This year sure rolled by like an avalanche, I remember the beginning of 2017 like it was yesterday. I can’t say that this will be a memorable Christmas since I am currently sick in bed. But who knows maybe I’ll grow wings overnight, and it’ll be a Christmas miracle. Apologies if this post turns out to be weirder than average since I am typing this heavily medicated.

In celebration of the holiday season, I’m back today with another festive attire featuring metallic fabric after confessing my distaste for the material (read my last post here). But in my defense, my dress is not the typically flamboyant and high-sheen material which metallic is known for, instead a much more wrinkled, muted and matte version. Now, we’re talking my style language! Maybe, one day I’ll take fashion notes from the tin man but today is not that day.

Now to spice up the festive flavor, I layered a sheer black tutu over my dress. While this look appears to be a one-piece outfit, it comprises of a Zara dress and a sheer tutu skirt from H&M. I bought the dress last year and forgot about its existence until I went rampaging through my closet, in an attempt to put together my holiday lookbook. An extra shopping trip to the mall saved!

Finishing touches or accessorizing is another crucial element to pulling together or effortlessly elevating any look. I’m talking dainty jewelry, suede pouches, sparkly shoes, bold sunglasses- for instance, a simple gold necklace and bold earrings can take an ordinary outfit to the next level.

For this holiday look, I wanted to let the dress do the talking but punch up the holiday vibes with a small red clutch, a gold statement necklace and an intricate crystal encrusted hinge bracelet. And off I go, to my next holiday soiree.
